Podcast Basics For Egg Harbor City MLM Business Bloggers

Today?s Egg Harbor City direct selling article is for Egg Harbor City internet rookies who want to kick up their web marketing a notch by adding a podcast to their Egg Harbor City home business blog.

A podcast is a multimedia file that is downloaded for playback on a mobile device such as an iPod or laptop computer. It can be a digital recording of a radio program or, more often, a program produced solely for online distribution. A podcast can be a recording of a webcast: a live Egg Harbor City program that is ?streamed? or broadcast on the internet in real time. When this is the case, it is similar to a DVD recording of a live program that you store in the database of your playback device.

A related term is the acronym RSS which probably originally stood for Rich Site Summary feed but is sometimes used for Really Simple Syndication. You have probably seen the term RSS on websites. An RSS feed allows digital files to be downloaded in a standard format. Leeds Point podcast listeners often subscribe to favorite ongoing podcasts. When new podcasts are produced, they are automatically downloaded by RSS applications.

It is fairly simple hardware- and software-wise to product your own podcast for your Egg Harbor City online business
. Your laptop may already have recording capability. If not, you can buy any equipment you need in the Leeds Point area.

Egg Harbor City business owners operating on a shoestring will be happy to know that basic recording and editing software can be downloaded for free. If you want to get fancy, you can always buy more sophisticated software at California specialty computer stores. I recommend using a headset microphone so the mic is always in the right spot to get a clear and consistent recording.

Now the fun part: what will you podcast? The possibilities are endless for Egg Harbor City direct marketers. You can record California trade show presentations, interviews with founding distributors of your Egg Harbor City direct sales company, or create an entertaining pitch about your Leeds Point business opportunity. Let your expertise and enthusiasm shine.

Creating a podcast gives you a chance to connect with potential Egg Harbor City customers or downline members in a personal way.

Graphene is a tunable plasmonic medium

ScienceDaily (June 20, 2012) ? With a beam of infrared light, scientists have sent ripples of electrons along the surface of graphene and demonstrated that they can control the length and height of these oscillations, called plasmons, using a simple electrical circuit.

This is the first time anyone has observed plasmons on graphene, sheets of carbon just one atom thick with a host of intriguing physical properties, and an important step toward using plasmons to process and transmit information in spaces too tight to use light.

"Everybody suspected that plasmons should be there, but seeing is believing. We've imaged them and shown that they propagate. And we've demonstrated that we can control them," said Dimitri Basov, professor of physics at the University of California, San Diego, and senior author of the report published online June 21 in advance of print publication in Nature.

To make the devices, they peeled graphene from graphite, the stuff of pencil lead, and rubbed it onto silicon dioxide chips.

They launched plasmons by shining an infrared laser on the surface of the graphene and measured the waves using the ultrasensitive arm of an atomic force microscope.

The outgoing waves are impossible to measure. But as they reach the edge of the graphene, they reflect like water waves from the wake of a boat bouncing off a pier.

Oscillations returning from the edge add to, or cancel out, subsequent waves, creating a characteristic interference pattern that reveals their wavelength and amplitude.

The scientists showed that pattern could be altered by controlling an electrical circuit formed with electrodes attached to the graphene surface and a layer of pure silicon beneath the chips.

"Here it is," Basov said. "You just take a battery from a flashlight and crank the voltage and you have a tunable plasmonic device."

Just like light can carry complex signals through fiber optics, plasmons could be used to transmit information. But plasmons could carry information within far tighter spaces.

"It's impossible to confine light at nanometer scales because light wavelengths are many hundreds of nanometers," said Zhe Fei, a graduate student in Basov's lab and the first author of the paper. "We used light to excite surface plasmons with a length scale of 100 nanometers or less that can travel at very high speed from one side of the chip to the other."

The performance they observed is promising. These are some of the shortest plasmon wavelengths measured in any material, yet the waves propagate as far as they do in metals like gold. And unlike plasmons on metals, graphene plasmons can be tuned.

A team of scientists working independently in Spain lead by Frank Koppens, Rainer Hillenbrand and Javier Garcia de Abajo has made a similar discovery using graphene film deposited by a gas rather than peeled from graphite. Their report, published in the same issue of Nature, bolsters this evidence for graphene plasmons.

"Graphene optoelectronics and information processing are very promising. We like to see our work contribute to future technology," Basov said. "There also is entirely new, fundamental science coming out of this. By monitoring plasmons, we learn what electrons do in this new form of carbon, how fundamental interactions govern their properties. This is a path of inquiry."

At G-20, developing nations are now the cavalry

By JACK CHANG, Associated Press

LOS CABOS, Mexico -- The scene at the just-concluded Group of 20 summit held in this seaside resort would have been unthinkable a decade ago: Hundreds of dignitaries gathered in opulent Mexican hotels and convention halls to hammer out an economic bailout for Europe. Meanwhile, the leaders of Brazil and China kicked in tens of billions of dollars to the International Monetary Fund to rescue downtrodden Spain and Greece.

Although the gathering didn't produce a solution for the ailing euro zone, it did outline the globe's new balance of power. Developing countries projected optimism and wealth over the summit's two days, while European and U.S. leaders struggled just to stay solvent.

A lot has clearly changed since the 1990s, when Asian and Latin American economies were slogging through recessions while Washington-based power brokers ordered up the very kind of austerity-minded prescriptions now sparking street protests in Europe.

Even during recent economic crises in the U.S. and Europe, China has been posting annual growth rates topping 8 percent. Countries with booming Chinese trade, such as Argentina and Ethiopia, have similarly seen their economies thrive. China's economy surpassed Japan's over the past year to become the world's second biggest; Brazil's overtook the U.K.'s to take sixth place.

"It is a different picture and reflects the fact that (developing) economies are not only the largest and fastest growing economies but are among the biggest economies in the world," said Uri Dadush, director of the international economics program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. "Clearly, neither the Americans nor the Europeans are in any position to tell the biggest economies what to do."

Mexican President Felipe Calderon cut to the point while speaking to reporters Tuesday afternoon as he noted developing world contributions to the IMF for a possible European bailout. Although the countries still have lower standards of living, their economies are growing and many have amassed large foreign reserves.

China had pledged $43 billion to the fund, while India, Mexico, Brazil and Russia each chipped in $10 billion. The United States, Calderon drily noted, was not giving a single penny, due to "serious restrictions of a legal and political nature." In other words, coughing up billions to save Europe was impossible for deadlocked U.S. politicians, especially in an election year and as the country struggled with its own budget deficits, economic analysts said.

University of Maryland economist Phillip Swagel, a former Treasury Department official in the George W. Bush administration, said developing countries' new economic power was already translating into growing political might.

In fact, the BRICS countries representing Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa were the ones making demands on Europe during the summit, saying they should be given a bigger role in the governance of the IMF if they were going to send billions to the fund. Europeans have traditionally led the organization since its founding nearly seven decades ago.

"With their resources comes a greater say," Swagel said. "It's a big change. We were once telling Asian counties what to do."

The power shift was clear in the air-conditioned hallways and balmy outdoor lounges of the G-20 where dignitaries and reporters mingled.

News crews from Ethiopia and China filled press conferences, while Brazilian and Russian leaders drew the most attention. Humbled European heads of state stepped before TV cameras to thank China for helping out while promising that their countries would do better.

Heloisa Castro, a Washington-based reporter for the Brazilian network Record TV, said Brazilians were energized by their new prominence, after so many decades of suffering dreadful busts and booms. Still, she said, they had no right to preach solutions to Europe, a point President Dilma Rousseff made to an international gaggle of reporters Tuesday.

Preventing European and U.S. turmoil from dragging down Brazil was the order of the day, Castro said, as economic growth in some developing countries has slowed sharply this year.

"I think it's very curious that now, we who have been through all these IMF adjustment programs in the past with their draconian conditions, we now are seeing European countries go through the same thing," Castro said. "But if the economies in Europe and the U.S. go down, we all suffer. We can't only live with the BRICS countries."

Hayley Miller Goes From Homeless Teen To Handbag Designer

When Hayley Miller was 15, homeless and living among alcoholics and drug addicts, she vowed to stay away from vices and find solace in the one activity that brought her joy ?- sketching designs.

Miller left home and moved into a hostel for homeless young people when her parents told her they wanted her to quit school and get a job, U.K.'s The Sun reports. Though the teen hated living in a hole-ridden hostel, with cocaine and heroin users, she at least found space to perfect her bag designs in her room.

?It was very scary,? Miller told The Oxford Times. ?The staff were lovely but every single one of them would say: ?Hayley you are well-spoken and well-presented -- you should not be here?.?

After two years ?- and far too many police raids on the hostel ?- the budding designer moved in with her grandmother and began to formulate a serious business plan. She took accounting courses, found a Chinese manufacturer and started working about 90 hours a week to make her dream of launching a bag line a reality, according to The Sun.

The now-20-year-old eventually found an investor to back her product, allowing for Hayley Miller Designs Ltd. to be born, according to The Oxford Times.

Miller's first collection, slated to launch later this month, has already nabbed the attention of such high-end department stores as Selfridges and Bag Servant, an online shopping site that boasts luxury bag designs from Chlo? and Chanel.

While Miller is about to see her dreams come true, she won?t leave behind those who are battling the struggles she once faced. She has already donated a bag to a charity auction that is raising awareness and funds for autism, according to The Oxford Times. She is also making sure to do what she can to care for those with whom she lived in the youth hostel.

?We all looked after each other and I will never just pass one of them on the street,? Miller told the news outlet. ?It is hard for me seeing someone I lived with in the hostel on the street.?

Wimbledon champ Kvitova ousted, Roddick advances

EASTBOURNE, England (AP) ? Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova was among the top three women's seeds to fall in the first round of the Eastbourne Championships on Tuesday.

However, defending champ Marion Bartoli beat Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 6-2. American Christina McHale upset third-seeded Caroline Wozniacki 6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-4.

In the men's event, Andy Roddick claimed his first win in seven matches when fellow American Sam Querrey retired because of a back injury with Roddick leading 5-2.

"Regardless of what he had going on, I hit the ball really well," said Roddick, whose last victory came in Miami three months ago. "Last couple of days it's been really good in practice. I don't know why or how or what the process has been, but it's felt pretty good."

Top-seeded Richard Gasquet of France was upset 1-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) by Australian qualifier Marinko Matosevic, and fifth-seeded Frenchman Julien Benneteau went down 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (4) to Yen-Hsun Lu of Taiwan.

Kivitova was the first to exit, going down 7-5, 6-4 to Ekaterina Makarova of Russia 7-5, 6-4.

She was followed out of the grass-court tournament by top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, who fell 6-2, 6-4 to Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria.

"It was a tough opponent for me for the first round, and I didn't play well," Kvitova said. "She has won here in the past, so I know that she can play well on the grass. For me, this was my first match on grass and I didn't expect too much."

Wozniacki always looked uncomfortable against the big-hitting McHale.

After splitting the first two sets, McHale broke to lead 2-1 in the third. Although she allowed Wozniacki to level at 4-4, the American broke serve again at love and closed out the match on her fourth match point.

The second-seeded Kvitova put on an erratic performance during her first match on grass since lifting the trophy at Wimbledon last year.

"It's not good preparation for Wimbledon, but I have more days for getting ready. I have to work hard now to improve my game," Kvitova said.

Radwanska has enjoyed a spectacular season, winning titles in Dubai, Miami and Brussels, and she believes that may have taken its toll.

"I think I have been playing a lot of matches this year, and I'm kind of like a little bit tired," said Radwanska, who double-faulted on match point. "Of course I was trying everything, but she's really playing good on grass."

Big Brother Africa Stargame: Keitta up for eviction

The Ghanaian housemate in the Upville house of the Big Brother Africa Stargame, Keitta is up for eviction alongside Manata from Zimbabwe and South African Model Barbz.

Even though Roki and Keitta were not nominated by any of the housemates during the nomination session Monday morning, Head of House (HoH) Goldie from Nigeria saved her BBA boyfriend Prezzo and surprisingly replaced him with Ghana's Keitta for possible eviction come Sunday.

Goldie did not really have any particular reason for putting up Keitta but she did it anyway. Keitta hasn't stepped on any toes yet since he's still pretty new in Upville but Roki who has definitely rub some Upvillers the wrong way has again gotten away with it.

Goldie looked extremely surprised when Big Brother announced the names of the nominees for eviction in alphabetical order i.e. Barbz, Maneta and Prezzo.

Immediately Prezzo's name was mentioned she held her head and said ?oh my God!? Goldie kept wondering who nominated Prezzo. ?Who did this?? she kept asking herself as she entered the diary room to save one of the three up for eviction and replace with another.

She obviously saved her lover boy Prezzo and to the surprise of everybody Keitta's name came out of her mouth as her replacement.

However, Roki has been strategically planting stories amongst the housemates, which led to them nominating each other and totally forgetting about him. Maneta got the highest nominations (4), followed by Prezzo and Barbz who both got three nominations, Goldie and Lady May both got two Nominations each.

Well, it seems clearly that Prezzo's game plan has worked perfectly for him. He made up with Goldie after giving her the run around just in time, knowing that she is the HoH and will sure save him should he come up for eviction.

You can vote via SMS by sending the word VOTE followed by the Housemate's name to MTN, Vodafone, Espresso, Tigo and Airtel short code 1474.

To Vote for Keitta, for example, type Keitta and send to the short code 1474.

A text cost GHC 0.70 pesewas and a number can vote only 100 times by SMS per telephone number during each voting period.

Viewers can also vote via the website by registering on DStv Connect, or using your existing DStv Connect profile details to log in. Please note that voting on the website or wapsite is free and you are allowed to vote once per hour during the voting period.

Voting begins immediately after the nomination show at 20:30 CAT on Monday nights or immediately after the live Eviction show at 21:00 CAT on Sunday nights and closes at 06:00 CAT on the following Sunday morning.
